West Ham appoint Moritz Steidten to scouting and recruitment role

Moritz Steidten has joined West Ham United as head of international scouting and recruitment from Werder Bremen.
Steidten was recommended for the role by his brother and technical director Tim Steidten.
He was a scout at Werder Bremen from July 2015 to February 2024.
Steidten’s influence behind the scenes continues to grow with Maximilian Hahn also joining in February as head of technical scouting and analysis from Werder Bremen.
Manager David Moyes’ recruitment team now consists of Steidten, Hahn, Rob Newman, head of recruitment, Mark Noble, the sporting director, Georges Santos, the European scout, Adam Clarke, the first team scout, Dylan Curnell, first team recruitment analyst and others.
Moyes is under pressure after a string of poor performances from his side in recent weeks.
Defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday means West Ham are winless from their last eight matches across all competitions and follows a 6-0 home loss against Arsenal last Sunday.
Moyes, however, stood defiant when speaking after the match.
He said: “I don’t think we can ever please everybody, but I think it would be hard to say there have been many better times at West Ham.
“I think they’ll (the fans) honestly have to say that it’s as good a time as there’s been at the club regarding winning a trophy (Conference League) and league positions. Maybe they’ll be managers who excite them more, possibly. But the one who’s sitting here wins more.”
West Ham — ninth in the Premier League — are next in action against Brentford next Monday.
